How can I add and edit attendee and ticket types?

Ticket and Attendee Types

Ticket and attendee types for the event are configured here.
Attendee types are the different sorts of people who you wish to distinguish between at your event.
Ticket types are the different ticket and day attendance options available to those people.

The ticket and attendee type matrix

The "Ticket and attendee type matrix" shows the attendee types and tickets you have set-up in your event. A default attendee and ticket type which cannot be deleted will be automatically created, however you can edit the details by clicking "view". If your event doesn't need any tickets or attendee types, these default ones won't interfere with your event in any way.

Within Ticket and Attendee Matrix, the attendee types are arranged along the top and ticket types are arranged down the left hand side (you can change this view if you wish by clicking the "Switch to vertical view" button towards the top side of the page). You will also notice a green tick or a red cross underneath each attendee type, and along the line of each ticket within the matrix. This shows you at a glance which ticket types are available to which attendee types.

Adding attendee types

An unlimited amount of attendee types can be added to an event. To add more attendee types click the "Add new attendee type" button towards the top right of the screen. After you have entered a name for your attendee type and saved it you will be taken through to the "Attendee type overview page" where you can also add notes and attachments to your attendee type if required. These notes and attachments are for internal use only.

Adding ticket types

An unlimited number of ticket types can be added to an event. To add more ticket types click the "Add new ticket type" button towards the top right of the screen. Below are filters you can apply to tickets which will affect whether they appear on a booking form. All tickets types are available for use in a booking which is entered directly into Symphony.

Days valid for
Use this field to select when a ticket is valid. The options are:

All days - Select this option if the ticket should be valid for the whole event.
Selected day(s) only - Select this option if the ticket is only valid on a particular date or dates within the event.
Open ticket - Select this option if the ticket is valid on a particular number of days in total which can be any of the dates within the event.

Capacity
This field allows you to limit how many of this ticket type are available. When the capacity is reached the ticket type will be removed as an option from any on line booking forms set-up for the event. You can set-up an email notification here to be sent to you and your team if the ticket type is getting close to its capacity.

Attendee type availability
Here you can assign to which of your particular attendee types this ticket will be available for.

Date availability
Here you can specify if the ticket is only going to available for a specific time period e.g. early bird tickets.

Price
Here you can set the actual cost of your ticket. You can also change the particular tax rate that has been applied to this ticket from the default event rate to a rate specific for this ticket if you wish.

IMPORTANT: - Please note that the figure that you put into the price box in here is the price INCLUDING VAT. It is the price that you actually want the attendee to pay for the ticket, NOT the cost before VAT is applied.

After you have entered a name for your ticket type and saved it, you will be taken through to the "Ticket type overview" page where you can also add notes and attachments about your ticket type if required. These notes and attachments are for internal use only.
