Custom Fields
Custom fields are miscellaneous questions or specific requests for information that needs to be collected from delegates when they register for an event.
Basic details, Address details, Attendee and ticket types, Session choices, Accommodation, Payment options or Terms and Conditions are all provided as default.
To add a custom field click "Add Custom Field" in the action box on the right of the screen and then add the text for your field in the "Field name" box.
Select the response field most suits your custom field. You choices are Text field, Selection list, Date field or Tickbox.
Text field - these are fields that allow the delegate to input text. For example, you might use this if your custom field is "Membership number:", or "Please give your thoughts on how we might improve this event in the future". You then need to decide how big the response field should be. A "Single line text field" is suitable for shorter responses whilst "Multi line text field" is for longer responses.
Selection list - this field is where you would provide a list of choices that the attendee could choose from. There are two possible selection list types "Single possible answer" and "Multiple possible answers". These relate to how many of the possible answers your attendees can select when answering the custom field.
When you build a booking form for this event you will then be given the chance to choose how these selection list questions appear on the form. You will have the choice between drop-down list, a radio button list or checkbox list.
Date field - Choose this option if the answer to your custom field is best suited by picking a date from a calendar.
Time field - Choose this option if the answer to your custom field is best suited by entering a time.
Tickbox - This is the best option if you would just like attendees to indicate positively or negatively to a particular question or statement. For example "Tick here if you are happy for us to contact you about future events".
